This Privacy Policy describes how Mira-TechSolutions LLC ("Parallel," "we," "us,"
or "our") collects, uses, shares, and safeguards information when you use the Parallel mobile
application and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to the
practices described here. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
Parallel is an automotive social and group-driving app. The Service is operated by
Mira-TechSolutions LLC, reachable at info@mira-techsolutions.com.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
- Account information: email address, password (stored only as a hash by our
authentication provider), and a username you choose.
- Profile content: profile photo, bio, garage / vehicle details (make, model,
year, trim) you choose to add.
- User content: posts, photos, captions, comments, mentions, hazard reports,
clubs you create or join, events you create or join, scheduled routes, and invitations you
send to other users.
- Communications: messages you send to us (e.g. support email, abuse
reports).
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Location data: when you start in-app navigation or join an active group
drive, we collect your device's location while the app is open and broadcast a pinpoint of
your live position to the route participants you are sharing the drive with. Location
sharing stops as soon as you end navigation, leave the route, or close the app. We do not
collect location data when you are not in an active driving session.
- Device and app data: device type, operating system version, app version,
and basic diagnostic information needed to keep the app stable.
- Usage data: the screens you visit and the features you use, used to
improve the product. We do not currently use third-party analytics SDKs that build advertising
profiles.
2.3 Information from others
If another user mentions you, invites you to a route, club, or event, or interacts with your
content, the corresponding identifiers (your username, profile photo) appear in their notifications
and feeds.
3. How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To authenticate you, send you an email-verification link, and let you reset your password.
- To deliver in-app notifications about route invitations, comments, mentions, follows, and
other social interactions.
- To broadcast your live location to the participants of an active route while you are
actively navigating, so the group can see each other on the map.
- To enforce our Terms of Service and respond to abuse reports submitted
through the in-app reporting tool.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights and the safety of users.
4. How we share information
4.1 With other users
The following information is visible to other signed-in users of the Service:
- Your username, profile photo, bio, and garage / vehicle entries.
- Posts, comments, and reactions you publish.
- Clubs you belong to and events you have created or joined.
- Your live location while you are actively navigating a route, visible to the route
participants only.
Your email address and password are not shared with other users.
4.2 With service providers
We rely on the following service providers to operate the Service. Each is bound by its own
privacy commitments and processes data only on our behalf:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Storage, Cloud
Functions, Hosting) — account credentials, user content, and live-location pings.
- Google Maps Platform — map tiles, place autocomplete, directions, and
static map previews. Location queries you make are sent to Google to render the corresponding
map data.
- Resend — transactional email delivery for email verification and account
notices.
- Expo / Expo Application Services — over-the-air app delivery and basic
diagnostics.
- Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) — crash and error diagnostics.
Receives device information, app state, and IP address only when the app encounters an error
or crash. See sentry.io/privacy.
4.3 For legal reasons
We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law, to
respond to lawful requests, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety
of users or the public.
4.4 Business transfers
If Parallel is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be
transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you and any successor will be bound by
this Privacy Policy unless and until it is updated.
4.5 We do not sell your personal information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for
cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Your choices and rights
- Edit your profile: change your username, profile photo, bio, and garage at
any time from Profile Settings.
- Change email or password: Profile Settings → Change Email / Change Password.
- Block other users: use the three-dot menu on a profile or post to block;
manage the list under Profile Settings → Blocked Users.
- Report content: use the same three-dot menu to flag content for review.
- Delete your account: Profile Settings → Delete Account. Deletion permanently
removes your profile, posts, comments, garage, routes, and uploaded photos from the Service.
Some records may be retained as required by law or for fraud prevention.
- Location permission: revoke at any time in your device's system settings.
Without location permission, group navigation features will not work.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local laws (such as the GDPR
or CCPA), including the right to access, correct, port, or delete your personal information, and
the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, contact us
at info@mira-techsolutions.com.
6. Data retention
We retain account information and user content for as long as your account is active. When
you delete your account, we delete or anonymize associated personal information within a
reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or necessary to enforce our terms.
Live-location pings are short-lived and are deleted when the route ends.
7. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit (TLS), authenticated
database access rules, and regularly reviewed permissions on cloud storage. No system is perfectly
secure; you are responsible for keeping your password confidential.
8. Children
The Service is intended for users aged 13 and older (or the equivalent minimum age in your
jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If
you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International transfers
The Service is operated from the United States. By using the Service from outside the United
States, you consent to the transfer of your information to and processing in the United States,
which may have different data protection rules than your country.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will give
you reasonable notice (for example, via in-app notice or email). Your continued use of the
Service after the effective date of the updated policy constitutes acceptance of the changes.
